Impact Evaluation Research

Research is the core of Statistica Analyticae’s Fellows collectively offer many decades of designing and implementing research in various agencies, with dozens of projects successfully implemented. Our special expertise lies in our spiritual mentor, Professor Lawrence Sherman’s Tripe-T strategy: Targeting, Testing and Tracking.

Targeting: We can help your agency identify the most valuable ways in which to focus resources, based on a large database of prior successes.

Testing: We can help your agency design and carry out randomized controlled trials, quasi-experiments, cost-effectiveness analyses, or implementation studies of various innovations in police practices.

Tracking: We can help your agency design and implement systems for managing the delivery of police services to focus tested practices on high-priority targets—the “roll-out” of “what works” to “making it happen.”

We have been working closely with major police departments to evaluate various interventions, including technological advents in law enforcement, hot spots of crime and disorder and many other social programs.

If you care about evidence in decision making, we may be able to assist by focusing on the following  areas:

  • Economy

  • Banking

  • Crime and justice

  • Health and social care

  • Education and skills

Training

Welcome to training on Evidence Based Policy.  Ultimately aimed at strengthening the linkage between research knowledge and practice, the specific components of our training modules involve posing specific, and well-structured questions, searching effectively and efficiently for the best evidence, evaluating any evidence that clients identify by research standards and their own agency and professional judgment, and finally taking action based on their assessment.

Our training packages were developed for practitioners, students, and administrators working in teams at various agencies, including the police, judges, bankers, and others.

The training consists of ten modules. Throughout the training, there are handouts and worksheets that participants will need in order to complete the course.

Module 1: Evidence Based Policy - Introduction and Overview

Module 2: Research Questions

Module 3: Overview of Research Evidence

Module 4: Search Tools

Module 5: Hands-on Search

Module 6: Troubleshooting the Search

Module 7: Evaluating the Evidence

Module 8: General Findings and Observations

Module 9: Synthesizing Evidence Found

Module 10: Implementation Plan

Our online courses are still in development, but will soon provide a completely self-driven learning experience at low cost to interested students anywhere in the world, in English. These courses will culminate in a personal examination.

Statistica Analyticae provides practical training in evidence based policy  at all levels of expertise, both online and in person. We have been providing training under long-term contracts with police agencies in Florida, Los Angeles, West Midlands Police, Uruguay, British Transport Police, Sussex Police, South West Trains, Trinidad & Tobago, Uruguay,  and in several other countries.

We have also been providing Barclays Bank a series of modules on compliance, white collar crime, anti-money laundering and KYC practices.

Our relationship with Barclays Compliance Career Academy was established in 2016.  Strong and effective internal compliance is essential to ensuring banks operate in the right way. For the first time, the Compliance Career Academy sets a benchmark for compliance practitioners that we are confident will contribute to raising standards across the industry as a whole.

All courses of the Statistica Analyticae can provide certification of accomplishments in learning, based on rigorous examinations. These certificates can help professionals win promotions and senior appointments, or help aspiring candidates to enter their profession. Most important, they recognize the kind of knowledge that can help to improve public expenditure by making better choices in government.
